Emerald Bay Resort
On the Caribbean coast of Panamá, in the bay of Portobelo, west of the historic capital of Colon, Two Oceans Property Consultants SA / Panamá City developed a luxury resort on a 4-hectare terrain and entrusted KRAUSE BOHNE Architects + Planners International with the masterplanning and design.
The aim was for the urban planning and architectural profile on the edge of the national park to evoke the memory of the Spanish conqueror Christopher Columbus. Through a re-interpretation of colonial architecture, a design was developed taking into account the current needs, the functions, materials and scale requirements. Set on a ridge that rises 80 metres above the Caribbean Sea, the castle-like hotel complex dominates the scene, overlooking the spacious resort.
For this flagship project of tourist highlights in Central America, the renowned leading luxury hotel group Kempinski SA / Geneva has already been secured as international hotel operator.
